A Note From the Founder and Director

Cynthia Milani

Meet the Director, Cynthia Milani,

The concept for the Institute for Global Development began in 1992 in New York when Cynthia Milani opened her own training  company.  The focus was on intercultural training and
conflict resolution for a wide variety of leading institutions and companies around the world.  IgD was one of the first organizations to work in the intercultural training field, and with so many countries - over 65 to date!  After decades of corporate training and development, Cynthia, a pioneer in the field of neuroanthropology, followed her dreams and opened the doors of the Igd Center for NeuroLeadership & Development to anyone interested in learning about the neuroscience of the brain+body+culture

"I created the Center because it has been my life’s mission to bring global development and conflict resolution to leaders and their organizations across the world in an effort to create a more peaceful and wise environment.   I taught thousands of leaders and international teams to mediate disputes and increase intercultural understandings before opening the IgD Center nor Neuroleadershp & Diversity, and inviting a few select experts who are tops in their field to join me as star presenters.

Here at the IgD Center for Neuroleadership & Diversity, we apply the latest neuroscience tools to a wide range of mind+body+culture  topics so our attendees can more effectively develop their brain based leadership skills, make better decisions, solve problems better and faster by controlling their emotions - while improving their cross-cultural insights. The IgD Center, a 16th century jasmine covered olive mill,  built on top of a Roman archaeological site, is located in Provence, France near the Sophia Antipolis park for new technologies and learning. The perfect blend of old and new wisdom.

I hope you will visit one of our very unique and inspiring Retreats in Provence, France with my esteemed colleagues like Shannon Murphy (who offers certification in BrainSkills at Works's essential Brain States Awareness Profile BrainStates Awareness),  or Dean Foster, with whom I have collaborated during the last 30 years on intercultural negotiations & mediation topics, or perhaps with the multi-award winning creator of EcoHUmanity, Armando Milani.  Armando and I have held numerous workshops on peace, conflict resolution and the environment over the last two decades.  Maeva Bec will be joining us to show us the magic of plants and flowers during our Quantum Physics & EcoLecture Series, and Maddalena Abou Hussein is our host for the Neuroscience of Family Dynamics..or come meet Dr. George Simons and the diversophy.com team when we play my brain+body+culture game series NEURODiversity & NEUROLeadership.

I invite you to learn more about me in the Presenters section, along with our other highly qualified and charismatic speakers. We hope to see you soon!"

TESTIMONIALS

"This program can make the difference between success and failure when working overseas".

- Manager, Training & Development, Goldman-Sachs

"I highly recommend the BrainStates retreat. First and foremost, it is run by two amazing experts in the field, Shannon Murphy and Cynthia Milani. As an executive coach, the learnings help me to use the BrainStates Awareness tool for my clients, but also for myself in order to be more mindful about balancing shifting states of the mind. I thoroughly believe that the insights of NeuroScience make a useful contribution to help create a more self-reflective, tolerant and peaceful world. Last but not least, the retreat takes place in a breath taking medieval olive mill in Le Rouret, close to Nice, steeped in history and its own narrative. I cannot imagine a more beautiful and harmonious setting. Shannon and Cynthia created a special Gesamtkunstwerk where collaborative learning and gaining insights into the field of neuro science, group outings and explorations of the wonderful Provence sites are a perfect blend to foster life long learning and happiness."

"BrainSkills@Work Certification training at the IgD Center for Neuroleadership & Diversity is at the top of my list of valuable life experiences. I was completely engaged and comfortable with the trainers and my colleagues. The content was stimulating, but easily understood because of the material and the trainers' expertise. It is very valuable to have practice time build into training and to have follow up assignments and meetings to increase our integration of new skills and information."

-Russanne Bucci

"I would recommend this retreat to all professionals. The information is relevant today and needed. We all need to be showing up the best way we can. Why not help others get there?"

-Debra Freathy

"The seminar gave an excellent overview of the theoretical framework behind the instrument and practical guidance on how to use it. It did not hurt that the setting was incredible and we visited many worthwhile sites during lunch and dinner."

--Thorunn Bjarnadottir

"One of the best, most enlightening and entertaining, training seminar I have ever been to. If you work or travel abroad, do not miss the opportunity to hear Dean speak."

"I wish I had attended Dean's program BEFORE I first went overseas. It would have helped me avoid a lot of the mistakes I made."

- VP, International, Talent & Leadership Development, General Electric

"Dean's was a five-star terrific presentation! Outstanding! This was, by far, the best seminar I have ever attended"
